September 6, 2007

Founding ALCATRAZZ members Jimmy Waldo (keyboards),Gary Shea (bass) and Jan Uvena (drums) are accepting demo CDs/MP3s from singers. Interested parties can contact the group at this location.

Waldo, Shea and Uvena recently posted a lengthy behind-the-scenes ALCATRAZZ biography at this location. The site covers the full story of the band, from its initial formation through three ex-guitar players, Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai and Danny Johnson, up to their current axeman Stig Mathisen.

As previously reported, Jimmy Waldo, Gary Shea and Jan Uvena sent a "cease-and-desist" letter to the group's singer, Graham Bonnet, requesting that he stop calling his new band ALCATRAZZ in violation of their intellectual property rights. An excerpt from the letter, dated May 23, 2007, can be found at this location.

Bonnet is joined in his version of ALCATRAZZ by guitarist Howie Simon, drummer Glen Sobel and bassist Tim Luce.

Bonnet's ALCATRAZZ is is currently writing material for a new CD, to be released later in 2008. The band's live show reportedly incorporates all the ALCATRAZZ classics, as well as highlights from Graham Bonnet's years with RAINBOW, MSG and IMPELLITTERI.
